My wonderful sister threw us a baby shower on the 23rd of August. It was a wonderful day! She made everything so nice, with the help of my Mom, Heather and Elizabeth as well. Jon took pics as well, when he was feeling ok enough to stand up.The atmosphere was festive, the games were fun, and our family and friends surrounded us with love. We got some really nice gifts for the new baby and I actually snuck in a few bites of cake while no one was looking! (I am so bad).
I unfortunately don't have any pictures of that day, even though I brought both my still and video camera, but Kathy and Jon took pics so I hope they send some my way or at least post on their blogs, so I can steal them....hint, hint!
Just had to say thanks Kat and Jon for a great day, We appreciate your love and kindness!

The Caddy!
So one of our baby shower gifts (thanks Mom and Dad) was a new stroller that would hold both the new baby in the carrier and Aedyn. We found this one because it fit with our carseat carrier already so we didn't have to buy a new one with new bases for he car. It is big, but it pushes well and folds up nice. We call it the Cadillac of strollers!

Choo Choo!
We met Kat for lunch at California Adventure (she called and suggested it knowing somehow in our weird mystic sisterhood bond that I needed it that day), then rode the train around Disneyland. That's about all we could handle, it was so hot out. Aedyn sat on the bench seat like a big boy, made me happy and sad at the same time. ( As you can tell he was a little tired). Watching him grow up is such a wondrous event, blessed is the only way to describe how I feel.

Belly Baby update - Warning includes pic of my fat belly!
Ok so don't get disgusted my belly, it's the only prego picture we have. I know I look fat, but I am still less weight now than I was when we found out I was pregnant!
I had my appointment today to checkup on the belly baby. Everything looks good, heartbeat is steady and on target, and baby's growth is on target as well, I measured exactly at 30 inches, which translates into 30 weeks, which puts my due date back at Nov. 6th. My fasting blood sugar is still high so the doctor put me on an oral medication to stabilize that. I will go back in 2 weeks to see how the meds are working. Other than that I am doing great, I feel good and have enough energy to get through the day and keep up with Aedyn. It is getting much harder to bend over though, and my hips hurt. Little aches worth the big miracle.

Our Mischieveous Monkey!
Aedyn is able to get into everything almost. He was very determined to get to some of his toys in his red bucket on the hearth of the fireplace. So he pulled some toys out, pulled down the red bucket, climbed onto the the hearth and into the red bucket. He was very proud of himself!

Peek-a-boo
A winning Smile
Working out, with my broom!
Say Cheese!
Learning to walk! We were so ecstatic! I cried!
Playing with the hose, and getting Mommy wet in the process!
Tickling those ivory keys with Uncle Jon!
Playtime with Brayden and Aedyn! A rare picture with me in it!
Maybe he'll be a dentist!
Reading with cousin Willow
Playing with the doggie door! Yes he can now escape!
Aedyn will be 11 months old tomorrow. It's so hard to believe. He has been changing and moving around so much it has been hard for me to keep up with taking pictures. Every time I go to get my camera because he is doing something so adorable, or has accomplished yet another development task, he stops what he is doing and finds the camera. He cracks me up!
Some new things he has accomplished. Clapping!Clapping! Clapping! All day long! He learned to do this last week and he can't get enough. He is clapping both hands together.
And he is almost standing on his own. He is really trying. He can stand alone for a matter of 2-3 seconds before he realizes he's doing it then plops to the floor. Exciting stuff.
Oh, and if I leave the room even if it's just around the corner, he sobs in despair, then when i reappear he starts laughing! Silly Boy! And he puts up with eating his food but really wants whatever Mommy and Daddy are having. Oh yeah, and he's learn to use objects as drums and cymbals beating them together. Daddy taught him this one in the bathtub. And he loves to push objects around on the floor while he's crawling, up and down the hallway and all around the kitchen. Toys are mobile like him. And he know how to open the sliding glass door and screen door so he can get outside, which he is doing right now! so gotta go !

Birthdays, Olympics, Lamaze, and Sippy cups
I haven't written in a bit so i thought I would just write what has been and is going on in our lives.
The last couple of weekends we have been celebrating birthdyas in the high desert. Happy Birthday to Mom and Willow. Mom made an awesome train cake for Willow, and we had a brunch with lots of sweet goodies the next weekend for her birthday. Delicious food everywhere that I couldn't eat (gestational diabetes). Small sacrafice for the beautiful gift we wll receive. It was funny to watch Aedyn play with his cousin Brayden; Brayden didn't want anything to do Aedyn. Aedyn was gentle and kept gentle with his buddy, but Brayden didn't want him in his space. But they do both share a shoe fetish!
Well tonight is exciting because the Olympics start. I don't know about all of you, but i love to watch the Olympics. They are so inspirational and more often than not I cry a few times throughout the ceremony and events. Yeah for Olympics, sports, and the blissful ignorance that feels like for 16 days every 2 years the World is at peace.
Tomorrow we are taking an all day lamaze class. Thank goodness they have these all day ones, because I don't think i could do 4 weeks in a row, let alone get a babysitter for Aedyn on Monday nights for 4 weeks in a row. Besides going to my appointments, and reading What to Expect While You're Expecting, this is our first official event to get ready for the new babe. We still have to clear out the daycare room, move our bedroom, move the guest room and do the baby's room. All a lot of work and time seems to be flying!
Aedyn has mastered the sippy cup! Before he was basically chewing than sucking, but he's got the hang of it now. Oh, and he loves to push things along the floor while he's crawling, he's learned that his toys are portable. So funny he cracks me up!
